The feature story concerning Levitate was first published in the Atlanta-based print monthly Stomp and Stammer in December 2001. It later ran in the Spring 2002 edition of Pop Culture Press, a quarterly print magazine based in Austin. A version of the story ran in the Metro San Jose; it's archived online. Resonance Magazine #33 (winter/spring 2002) ran a 300-word version of the story as well.
