IDAHO - Hearts Of Palm

Quality, unpretentious music one can rest their head on. Each track is serenely mixed, filled with rolling guitars. On ‘The Cloud We're On' Christy Schnabel adds haunting background vocals to the perfectly worn sound of Jeff Martin's voice. The clumsily stumbling beauty of track 5 is ironically\ titled ‘Happy Times' - indicative of the thoughtfulness put into the lyrics throughout the album. The album finishes with a completely tranquil instrumental vaguely in the vein of a Yo La Tengo piece. The overall album resonates somewhere between the prominent crooners of Counting Crows and the Chicago indie magicians of Palace Music.
