Listening to the L.A.
band Idaho is like nestling beneath tattered bed linen with lead singer
Jeff Martin as he empties his anguished soul. A distant snarl of feedback and slow-motion power chords cushion lyrics like “A broken sun melts my
heart/And burns away the dark.” The stark emotion and the musical arrangements are beautiful, but don’t lend this to your depressed friends. B+—MR
